This morning, sunrise was an hour earlier, it’s officially winter time. Little squeeze in my heart, it’s officially time to bed goodbye to summer. Lana Del Rey sang it well, I’ve got that summertime sadness. Oh well, fall has been kicking in for a while already and it’s time to embrace it. A new season, welcoming a wind of change.
After a crazy month of September between Beirut, Dubai and London, followed by 10 days of hectic Paris Fashion Week, I headed to Cameroon (Africa) where my heart is, where my husband lives. It’s time for a little break. I love my blog and I’m dedicated to the extend that I now understand the importance of taking a step back from time to time, take moments to update my strategy, enjoy writing my articles and focusing on the next steps. For now, all I can say is that I have a beautiful surprises for you all in November, followed by an eventful December.
Meanwhile, I’ve been writing Fashion Week reviews, sharing with you details of my looks and starting tomorrow, will be focusing on my favorite winter trend report. I know you’ve missed these posts! Followed by a couple of lifestyle reviews and many updates in different categories of the blog.
Now back to winter. What do I love about winter? Well first, I love how at some point in October, we can start to feel a colder breeze, the air feels cleaner, filling my lungs with a crisp feeling. It’s great.
While in summer all I think about is fresh salads, grilled fish and colorful fruits, in winter, I look for (a little bit of) decadence. I love coming home after a long cold day as the sun sets down and enjoy some homemade Lebanese dish and a lot. a lot. a lot of chocolate. I can’t resist!
And winter fashion? Ah, definitely my favorite season. Time to take out your favorite knits, your statement coat, your collection of scarves, you daily go-to ankle boots. For some reason, I’ve grown to become obsessed with layering. It’s much more fun dressing up in winter and coming up with the craziest combinations. By the way, where did you hide your gloves? And your beanie?
What’s next? Christmas markets. November is at the doors and I can’t but think of the festive season already. The smell of caramel popcorn and hot chocolate. Yum. It’s also glitter season. Gold, sapphire, red, all the colors of sequins are welcome both in our closets and everywhere around us. It’s time to add a little sparkling magic to your wardrobes, goodbye summer insouciance.
Yes, take out your biggest smile. It might be getting darker earlier but embrace the cold and everything festive. What are your favorite things about winter?
