Attending Bottega Veneta’s 50th anniversary as my first show definitely felt extremely special. Every piece of the brand’s Spring Summer 2017 celebrated the identity of the brand, the codes that define the label, that made it stand out throughout the years. Presenting the show at the Accademia Di Breira made it such a special and spectacular moment.
To start it off, the long and fluid silhouettes looked very interesting with the thick leather belts always defining the waist of the models. When looking closer at the show, we realized how in fact how simple the looks were, yet their effect was extremely strong. Everything was about the know-how, the material used, the styling.
My favourite pieces were the shirts styled with gorgeous pants and a leather belt. Maier kept most looks very defined at the waist, constantly adding this feminine look to a contemporary-looking collection.
And because it is part of the DNA of the brand, fifteen new bags were created, my favorite ones being the oversized pieces. As for the shoes, look out for the sling backs and the laced-up wedge heels, the will be next summer’s must-haves.
All the models wore a floral brooch in her hair, adding a little sparkle and a touch of romance to their looks. And what a big smile we had when Lauren Hutton walked the runway, it was magical!!!
Clients of the brand are going to be over the moon with the brand new “Strap you” versions, in shorter/thicker/thinner versions. The new straps are completely different from anything we’ve seen before and the shorter versions are going to add an extra way for you to style your bags. Soon, you will also be able to add your initial to any of your purses. Playful Fendi, we love you.
