As delicate as always, Ralph & Russo’s new collection celebrates a dreamy spring. There was a subtle renewal and everything seemed so light and airy. I loved the contrast between the weightless evoked in the crepe capes, the bell sleeves, the organza ribbons and the modernity evoked through the corseted bustiers, the very structured peplums and the defined waist. The collection celebrates the beauty of the hourglass figure beneath gorgeous sheer robes. And who doesn’t love the hourglass figure? The perfect shape every woman aspire for. My favorite looks were definitely the ones where we had the encrusted corsets worn with the sheer robes, the way the fabric was floating as the model hit the runway was just so beautiful.
The hand-painted peonies and tulips in blue, blush pink and lavender were also my favorites. I felt like I was sitting in a whimsical garden where I was allowed to dream. The Chantilly lace and the feathers were also beautiful spring notes. I always look for the contrasts created in collections and once again, the brand reconciled two very different yet complementary moods, the strong silhouette using the most romantic and light fabrics/textures. The right balance between couture classics and the new couture.
