Miuccia Prada released her Spring/Summer 2018 RTW collection for Miu Miu during PFW, and it was teen-like with a mix of girlish & boyish, in a retro not vintage style. “What was important for me, what was really new was, for the first time, I really worked on girls, on different people and enjoying the way one dress looked different on one girl versus another one.” Mrs. Prada said.
- The show opened with a boyish style, through sweaters, striped vests layered over pointed collars or V-neck button-down shirts and tailored shorts or trousers. The models looked as natural, young and beautiful as they ever could.
- Miuccia Prada played around with school-girl knit chevron vests, straight cut pants, pencil skirts, retro sunglasses, bright colored socks, headbands and Miu Miu’s beautiful leather bags. Odd and insane layering is what makes this brand distinguishing.
- Checked pieces such as coats and dresses reminded us of old kitchen wallpaper, with a hint of florals and the brand’s signature layering. The entire looks were rich but well-worn, as Miuccia does it best!
- Sheer flowery lace dresses layered over knits or cotton collars and trousers, came in delicate embroideries. Miuccia accessorized them with colorful fluorescent socks and simply designed heels, black and white headbands & bags. Unordinary is Miu Miu’s specialty, as the designer always tries to help its girl feel special.
