I love couture and everything that has to do with fashion opulence and the mastering of details.
1) Christian Dior:
With this collection, Raf Simons made spring come early for Dior. The setting followed the same theme and it was really fabulous to see models walking in a colorful garden. The colors of the dresses evolved from sky shades of early spring to a marvelous bride. Delicate beading, embroideries and appliques brought more reality to the couture. Personally, I’m a fan of Galliano’s couture for Dior and although I liked this collection, I think Simons should push it a bit further.
2) Chanel: Magnificence itself, another inspiring collection just as Karl has got us used to. Loads of black and white, floral beadings and perfectly cut shapes.
3) Giambattista Valli:
So far, this is my favorite collection of this Paris Haute Couture edition. This collection is something between old and new, Valli took everything that’s basic (black and white, mousseline, etc.) and followed with different hints (metallic feathers, tulle, belts, etc.).
