I never had the chance to actually take a little time to discuss Dior Cruise 2016. I was very lucky to take a closer look at the collection last July during my coverage of Couture week in Paris. If you remember I had covered it on Instagram and Snapchat as well. This collection was presented at Le Palais Bulles, a palace of terra-cotta bubbles halfway between Cannes and Monaco. It’s actually the current property of Pierre Cardin (now 92 years old!) and I love how he actually attended the Dior Cruise show.

In my opinion, the best part about this collection is that the bar silhouette was brought back with full sleeves and a beautiful waist. I loved how the bar was style with taffeta shorts and sometimes simply style with pants and flip-flops. The beauty of this collection is that it actually reflects Dior’s heritage but adapting the pieces for more “ease”. Dior’s ‘femme fleur’ was there in pleated skirts. The patch-working and crochet created very interesting textures, adding some edge to the collection.

It was very symbolic for me to wear a look designed by Raf Simons to a show where he wasn’t present anymore. The reason I picked this look is because I LOVE the military accent of the jacket, love the pockets and shapes. I also believe that this shade of green is one of my palette’s color, suiting my skin tone/hair/eyes color. Loved wearing the latest Dior pumps, the new must-have classics, the Dior Essence shoes. The way they slightly show the toes is just so sexy and they are extremely comfortable, trust me on this one. Final touch, the Diorama but a piece that is actually decorated with several images iconic to the brand. I hope this look will inspire you as much as it made me feel strong.

I love wearing pieces that have architectural lines, I believe that fashion is going modern on several levels and it’s important for today’s woman to wear pieces that will empower her. It’s very simple, the style you wear can highly affect the way you will face certain situations. It might sound extreme to some of you but I believe in the power of styling yourself in the right way for the right situations. #WomenEmpowerment
