Gucci took the fashion world by storm ever since the presence of Alessandro Michele. I have to say that every single season, it’s pleasure to kick off Fashion Week with this incredible show. I’m a lover of his philosophy and how he makes it evolve within his own world. “When you watch the show you can see what I’m trying to do: I want to stay in my aesthetic. I don’t want to run because I know the company works in a very fast way”.
I was very excited to get to the show as it was taking place at the fashion house’s new HQ. The setup was incredible. It was museum inspired, taking us to different eras of the past, with monuments from Egypt, Greece and other remind us of the Romans. The catwalk was blue and gave us the illusion that models were walking on a river, taking them from a time to frame another. The seat number were actual museum entry cards! Every detail counts.
We end this review with a special note about the styling, because it really reflects the aesthetic of the brand. If someone else was doing it we would say that it’s too much, but with Gucci and Alessandro Michele it’s exactly what we want to see: A crazy imaginary world that hypnotises us every single round.
