My favorite season of the year is finally here. Nothing feels like spring, the come back of beautiful colors with trees and flowers blossoming, the sun shining giving us a blue blue sky. Fashion also blossoms with spring, it’s time show a some skin and let it be kissed by the sun. Yes, summer is at the doors, it’s time feel good about yourself. No more hiding under your winter layers.
Here’s to a gorgeous Chloe ensemble that I couldn’t resist not wearing in Dubai. For the first time in years, I feel comfortable about wearing a matching set. This trend has been back for a white already but after years promoting the mix and matched looks, it felt awkward to embrace the full floral look. It looked beautiful. Yes, there’s something irresistible about the harmony that such a combination creates, especially when in like colors.
I became a big advocate of such looks now and I think that if you haven’t yet, you absolutely must embrace this style.
Here are my top tips to rock this trend:
1. When to wear such an outfit: a printed matching set (whether top + skirt, pants + skirts or shorts + skirt) always stands out. Make sure to go for such a look when you want to stand out. You do want to be standing out everyday but I suggest going for a similar look for important days/events.
2. Keep the accessorizing minimal: when matching the prints of your tops and bottoms, you’re already making a bold statement, regardless how simple the print could be. This is why I would advise you to keep the accessorizing subtle. You can choose to have ONE statement piece among the rest of your accessories. It could be the bag or a bold necklace.
3. The three colors rule: Prints are usually made of at least two to three colors. If your clothes contain two colors, you can add a third one with a pair of colored heels or a very colorful purse. If your clothes contain three to mode colors, make sure to accessorize your look with shoes and bags matching one of your outfits’ hues.
