Once again, Elie Saab did not disappoint. From the olive trees decorating the runway to the surprising soundtrack unveiling the voice of Fairuz singing “Ya Ana W Enta”, everything was there for the perfect Lebanese fairytale. This haute couture collection is full of very whimsical pieces, taking us down the memory lane, reminding us of our glorious Lebanon.
The palette of colors is very interesting, starting with cream and evolving to shades of pink, yellow, orange and black. The surprising element used this time were the feathers, I loved how this detail was incorporated into many gowns of the collection, making the creations look softer, adding lightness to the looks, softening the strong beadings. The show ended with the always-awaited statement bridal dress. This time the bride is full of colors, green, pink and cream shades were used for the embellishments. I gasped. Yes, a show-stopper!!
Thank you Mr Saab for once again making us all proud Lebanese, happy to see your name shining all across the globe. It’s not the first time the designer celebrates Lebanon but this time it’s all about our roots, the origins, reminding us the beauty of the glorious years.
