This show was really good. What particularly stood out were actually the shoes, patent-leather, candy-colored boots. These are sure to be a huge hit with Dior fans everywhere.
With this collection, Simons takes us from the “femme fleur” to the more sexual and liberated “femme animale”. Forget about the preppy garden, time for the wild nature. This collection featured zebra-like stripes and leopard prints but in very contrasting colors. There’s definitely a strong inspiration from the 1960s with the mini dresses, the tight jumpsuits, the futuristic mirrored sunglasses and the shiny boots.
Some might argue that this collection is a huge shift from the very romantic aspect that has been recently associated with the brand but I have to say that I love this wind of change. Counting the days for the “Dune” bag to hit the stores, an absolute show-stopper!!!
