Dina Jsr is a Lebanese designer that I recently came across a few months ago when I discovered her dresses being sold at Sophie’s Choice, a store located in Beirut Souks. I was very glad to have the chance to pass by her presentation at Le Bristol hotel during last edition of Paris Fashion Week.
For Fall/Winter 2013, Dina did a very different work. She used a lot of gazar, leather and lace. What is particular to this collection is how she used drawings she had done when she was 11 years old as the main print for her dresses. This print is used on several creations and in different ways: printed on gazar in black on green (or black on red gazar) or lazer-cut leather for other dresses. This collection offered a wide choice of gowns between short and long ones.
Furthermore, it was very interesting for me to learn that Dina inspires herself of a specific architect for every collection. This time, she was inspired by the notorious Zaha Hadid and more specifically by one of her towers currently in construction in Bucarest, the Dorobanti Tower.
