Tricks and Trends: What pants should I pick?

Times when we used to wait to discover which pants’ cut is trending are over. Now, mostly everything’s in and it’s about choosing the right pant’s shape for the corresponding body and style we’ve set.

I’ve made some research and based myself on H&M, Zara & Mango’s F/W ’11 collections in order to sum up in this post, what types of pants are in style and how to stylishly wear them.

1- Slim Fit

It is undeniably one of the favorite cuts ever. I remember when slim pants just came out, I used to hate them but now I just find them gorgeous!

This fit is a must-have style of any season. The point is to construct an extremely sophisticated (and slim) silhouette. For that, pair these pants with an oversized top, a long tunic or a very large jacket.

2- The Slack

Classic creased slacks, just slightly cropped.

You can pair them with a  jumper for an elegant casual look- or throw on a blazer for the office.

3- Straight

Straight leg and medium rise: this is a very versatile fit for a classic yet elegantly tailored look.

4- Tapered

Tapered in the legs, these pants are loose and pleated through the waist. They will help you show just how chic great tailoring can be.

5- Wide

The impossibly elegant, feminine look for women who always wear the pants. Modern, classic, glamorous.

6- The Boot Cut

A classic for all occasions- the flattering silhouette is well tailored and cut to fit for everyday wear and endless combinations.

7- The Flare

These 70s-inspired flares bring a touch of flair to any look, from boho-cool to dressed-up chic. Heels are a plus-the rest is really up to you!

8- Very Flary

Fitted through the waist, wide at the bottom, these jeans add a tuch of 70s-inspired flair to any style.

9- Sqin

A low-rise skinny fit jean, this is the denim foundation of a chic, feminine look-season after season.

10- Super Sqin

Extremely skinny and low-waisted fit. For me, they’re THE rock and roll.

I guess it’s time to try a new cut if until now you’ve been picking just one of these! They should (almost) all be in your closet! It’s important to choose the fit that will flatter your body and make you feel the comfiest. Let’s shop!

Fashionably yours,
