We’ve been seeing them in stores, magazines, on celebrities and bloggers but have you tried them on yet? If yes, then I have to say that you are necessarily a person with a lot of style. If not, it doesn’t mean you’re not in trend but I would definitely advise you to give it a try!
The classic brogue deserves a place in every (very busy) woman’s shoe wardrobe. They’re the best flats to go for if you want to give a very edgy touch to your looks.
During my styling session at Barbara Bui’s boutique in Downtown Beirut last week, I couldn’t help but spot a gorgeous pair of white brogue shoes, with beautiful details. It’s as if they’re made of lace! It’s very important that you take a closer look to the stitches of a pair of brogue shoes if you’re considering to buy them!
After falling in love with the shoes, I decided to compile a whole outfit to match them. When wearing brogue shoes, I like to add a little feminine touch to my look to balance the very masculine side of the shoes, hence I chose to go for soft white shorts to show more legs. Then, to add some colors, the lime leather jacket was the best option to go for, keeping the top underneath very simple. I love creating color contrasts in my outfits and this summer, it’s all about that!
I am wearing: white shorts, printed top, lime yellow leather jacket, white brogue shoes from Barbara Bui SS14 Collection.

Now, here are my quick tips on how to style your brogue shoes:
1) Show your ankles: always try to show a little of bit of your ankles when wearing brogues. This is why, I would advise you to style your shoes with above-the-knee skirts, dresses, shorts and cropped pants. Be careful, you want to be give the right proportions to your body.
2) Classic but with a twist: brogue shoes are a statement between being something classic yet difference. Hence, you want to always keep your outfit very well put together yet simple. Imagine a pair of black cropped trousers, a soft blouse, statement earrings and your metallic brogue shoes: perfection!
3) Add Feminine touches: always try to balance the masculinity of brogue shoes by adding a pretty hat, some bright lipstick, oversized jewelry, layering shirts, floral prints and soft pastel colors.
