Style your closet: How to wear your wedges

Wedges are back in force this summer whether you like them or not. I never was a big fan of such shoes because I’m quite tall and the designs rarely satisfy me; but this time, it’s very different. Designers are competing with the most colorful and creative wedges. If you like prints and bright tones, you’re going to find what you’re looking for too!!

To start this post, here’s a selection from net-a-porter.com:

From left to right:

first line: Christian Louboutin, Guiseppe Zanotti

second line: DKNY, Yves St Laurent and Brian Atwood.

Now, I’d like to share with you my lastet ‘investment’ in wedges. I couldn’t resist these slingback Balenciaga wedges the time I attended their SS12 collection in Beirut. I just loved how they teamed the shoes with most outfits.

After the show, I entered the store and found out that the shoes were available in beige, black and coral. I chose to go for beige because it’s a passe-partout color and it’s something missing in my wardrobe.

Here are 2 ways of styling such a pair:

1) Mango Sahara dress, SEE BY CHLOE Bluma leather shoulder bag, Ultra Aviator sunglasses by Ray Ban and  the Balenciaga wedges.

2) Mango light pink lace top, J. CREW mint green pants, Balenciaga wedges, Proenza Schouler satchel and a Venessa Arizaga bold necklace.

All of this is without forgetting how comfy wedges are and how much they can add to your everyday outfits without tiring your feet!

Fashionably yours,

                                Lana xx
