With this collection, we entered the enchanted world of Ralph&Russo. It felt like all the pieces were inspired by the women who used to attend grand balls in huge castles. It was romantic, sensual, sophisticated, feminine, royal.
It started with pretty little tsarinas dresses, followed by gorgeous fully embellished abaya-like coats, and heavy puffball gowns. I loved the romantic capes, the metallic feather embroideries, the very impressive floral patterns, the lightness of the lace column dresses, the 1970s inspired jumpsuits and the pleated dresses. I liked how the details were very graphic with structured jackets, the use of pearl and crystal mosaics and tone-on-one embroideries.
Everything in this show is bejewelled, even brocades are. Nothing extravagant, always just strong enough to be a statement.
The wedding dress ended the show on a stunning note, I loved the silhouette: the turtleneck, the long sleeves, the very long train fully beaded with gold pearls and threads. It looked majestuous. A very beautiful story.
