I’m just in love with Nicolas Ghesquiere’s latest womenswear collection for the French house. As we arrived to the Louis Vuitton foundation, we first fell in love with the gorgeous mirrored domes built especially for the fashion show. The show kicked off with a gorgeous statement coat, white and fluffy and an even bigger box bag, a mini trunk.

I fell in love with the lingerie inspired silk dresses and tops and the animal-printed covered with shimmering beadings. Loved the exquisite puffy sleeves, especially when paired with a sleeker, more modern, futuristic silhouette.

The most avant-garde pieces where the second-skin ribbed knits with their cutouts above the bust, gorgeous. When metallics took over the runway, we were taken an even bigger step into the future. The mini trunks in aluminium and other materials were among the most modern accessories of the collection, especially with the storage space for iPads, chargers and more. The perfect purse for today’s working lady.

This show has definitely proved that Ghesquiere has now settled in enough to find his own unique path forward. This collection is an exploration, taking us from our favorite 1970’s details to new techniques and new ways of embracing the future.

I can’t wait for more fashion explorations from Ghesquiere, the coming seasons are surely going to be explosive!

Fashionably yours,
