I have to start by saying that California definitely suits Ghesquiere. His latest collection, presented a couple of weeks ago at the Bob Hope estate in Palm Springs is not about to be forgotten. I’m personally in love with it.
With this collection, Ghesquiere proves to us that it’s not only about his signature A-line skirts. Here, he sent out maxi skirts on desert boots paired with bohemian cropped tops and leather belts. I love this directional look slightly reminding us of the 1930s Hollywood starlet. Printed and quilted silk coats followed, leather motocross jackets, tailored trousers, printed prairie dresses, pants cut high on the thigh and worn with army sweaters, silk blouses and suede jackets. I love that the designer’s signature details for Louis Vuitton remained clear: oversized front zips, the suede color blocking, the metal feel. Also, the brand’s identity stayed apparent with a lot of leather, the four-pointed flowers of the iconic monogram and other details. A stunning collection, oh so LA style.
