I love how Bruno Frisoni; Roger Vivier’s current creative director, has been bringing back several design elements from the brand’s past. In 2013, it was all about the “talon virgule”; as for this season, he revisits the “boule” (ball). What makes that “boule” so special? Well, it goes back to 1953, when Vivier had created a pair of shoes with a boule heels for the German actress and singer Marlene Dietrich.
This winter, the boule/sphere is reinterpreted in rhinestones and added to bags, cuffs, booties, pumps and stilettos. Personally, I’m in love with the “stiletto-sphere” and it’s by far my favorite design from the Bazaar collection. The boule/sphere gives this pair of pumps the right sexy hint, making them perfect shoes for day meetings, evenings out with friends and important social events.
I styled my oxblood stiletto-sphere with sequined leggings, a simple white shirt and an oversized black blazer. An ideal look for the festive season; creating an interesting contrast between the monochrome outfit and the statement shoes.
