Lana reviews: My Favorite Gowns At Cannes’ Opening Ceremony

Cannes is one of my favorite cities in the world, the summers I’ve spent there with my family are just priceless moments. Le Festival De Cannes is awaited every year and the best part of it is that it comes just in time before summer. The fashion is always outstandingly glamorous! Yesterday, the opening ceremony and the Moonrise Kingdom premiere took place.

I’ve went through most of the red carpet looks and I chose to pick my 5 favorite ones and blog about them today!

To start, here’s to Eva Herzigova as my favorite look of all yesterday night. She really rocked the red carpet in this pale pink Dolce&Gabbana gown. I have nothing to say about her Chopard necklace, it left me breathless. The model was able to achieve a perfect retro-chic look as she had her hair curled a la 50s. The contrasting gold clutch comes in to break through the nude tones. I can’t get over how stunning she looked!!!!!

Secondly, I have to mention Diane Kruger who’s one of this year’s panel judges. She looked dazzling in a very effortless combination yesterday night. She went for a mint green Giambattista Valli couture gown. It was a flawless choice, in my opinion, I love the simplicity of her accessories and the very neat bun that only added more glamour.

I also loved how simple yet stunning Lana Del Rey‘s look was. Her black strapless Alberta Ferretti gown was so elegant with her signature hairstyle, a black box clutch and a stunning Chopard necklace. That’s what we call a red carpet look!

For originality, I have to feature Freida Pinto. She really shined in a this fabulous Michael Angel gown. I loved the crystalized corset and the candy pink peplum skirt. This dress is so beautiful, especially when paired with those metallic silver sandals and the bejeweled Louis Vuitton clutch. I want this dress!

Jessica Chastain was another pastel shades’ lover as she opted for a light pink Alexander McQueen gown with very subtle Louis Vuitton jewels and a divine hair updo. These tresses look gorgeous!

My mum always told me “don’t match your purse with your shoes!” And with Freida Pinto I can see why she insisted on it.
But then again, it’s the lady that make the dress, not the dress that makes the lady, right ?

    1. Oh Yes Vanessa, that’s beautifully said! A lady always makes the dress! Matching purses and shoes is now a trend coming back but yesss as your mom said, it has to be veeeeryyy carefully done!
