Lana reviews: Incredible fashion at the #Oscars2012

I must admit it’s extremely tiring to watch the Oscars, live tweeting the fashion and trying to blog all at once!! But yesterday’s 84th edition of the Academy Awards was fashionably outstanding! I’ve seen more beautiful gowns than ugly ones and I couldn’t but share the below with you!

Lebanese designers:

Elie Saab:

On top of the list yesterday night, Milla Jovovich drove everyone crazy in an AMAZING Elie Saab white gown, her hair and makeup were perfect too. Wow!

Berenice Bejo, featured in The Artist was also dressed in Elie Saab. This green mint dress was remarkable and her hair looked so nice as well; even if I would have seen them naturally waved down.

Tony Ward:

After wearing Basil Soda for the pre-oscars show on E!, Giuliana choses another Lebanese designer to ROCK the red carpet!

Giuliana Rancic

Zuhair Murad:

After few minutes of controversy on Twitter, Jennifer Lopez wins it all in this sexy Zuhair Murad gown; she looks so voluptuous.

Georges Chakra:

She’s almost always wearing Lebanese designers and this time she had her heart set on this very classy Chakra’s dress. I’m not biased, I really like it!

Other Favorites:

Everyone was talking about Jessica’s dress for almost half an hour. This Alexander McQueen gown was very well combined with a natural hairstyle and it made her look enormously cute and elegant!

Best mix between classy and sexy for Sandra Bullock in this backless Marchesa couture dress.

Metallic gold Lanvin for Meryl Streep is a #win and a #win and a #win.

Black for the Oscars:

From left to right: Anna Faris in Diane Von Furstenberg (suits her very well, love the hair!), Tina Fey in a custom-made Carolina Herrera dress (nothing very surprising!), Rose Byrne in Vivienne Westwood (fabulous!) and Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Michka (#fail for the hair, dress is ok).

Beautiful in white:

From left to right: Rooney Mara is in a Givenchy dress (Love it on her, I think it’s a great change from her usual black looks) and Gwyneth Paltrow was one of my favorites yesterday night in this simple and structure Tom Ford white dress.

The Exquisite Couples:

Well, I have to start with Brad and Angie. They came amongst the last on the red carpet to leave one of the most glam impression of last night’s ceremony. Brad Pitt is in Tom Ford and Angelina Jolie is wearing a black velvet Atelier Versace dress, a ‘sans-faute’ for both!

Everyone had their eyes set on Georges and Stacy yesterday night. In Giorgio Armani, Clooney looked perfect; especially with the studs on the blouse. Literally all the women were going nuts about Stacy’s Marchesa gown; I must admit that the color is just the right choice but I don’t like that flower on the side. She stays a #win though!

Here’s to another great couple, Colin Firth was in Tom Ford and Livia in a red Valentino dress that I didn’t particularly like but I think it still works for such an occasion. They perfectly matched.

The ladies in RED:

In my opinion, red is one of the most difficult color to wear. So, imagine how hard it gets for a red carpet event. Oscars are the ultimate occasion for high-end glamour and these ladies have done it just right!

From left to right: Jane Seymour in Pamela Rolland, Michelle Williams wearing Louis Vuitton (please note she’s in coral red, LOVE her dress and the diamond broche), Ellie Kemper in Armani Prive and Emma Stone wearing Giambattista Valli couture (Emma looks AMAZING).

The OUT:

1) From left to right: Penelope Ann Miller in a custom-made Badgley Michka dress, Missy Pile in an eco-friendly dress (hate the lower part of the dress), Melissa McCartney

2) From left to right:

Busy Phillips (awful dress color, what’s with these blue earrings?), Virgina Madsen in Kevan Hall, Cameron Diaz in Gucci (I must admit there’s a great amount of work in the dress but I hate it!) and Viola Davis in Vera Wang (the dress does make her look fabulous, the color is great but I don’t really like how it is structured).

The Vintage-y:

Natalie Portman looked particularly great yesterday in a Christian Dior vintage red dress; I really like the tiny polka dots that we almost can’t see. Her jewelry is astonishing ; what a necklace!!

Now, it’s YOUR turn to share with me your thoughts on the Oscars 2012’s most memorable fashion looks!

Fashionably yours,
