We all have a couple of kilos to let go of, right before summer in order to feel comfy in our swimsuits/bikinis. Today’s post is all about foods that can help stop your hunger and enhance the fat burning process so you can have a healthy diet combined with regular exercising and lose the extra kilos.
When you’re hungry and craving sugars, an apple is the perfect snack as it contains a lot of water and fibers. It is also all-known that an apple a day helps reducing your body fat and risks of cholesterol. Make sure to EAT the skin in order to get all of the benefits of the fruit: iron, magnesium and vitamin C included.
Eggs are mostly made of proteins; this is why the key result behind having a couple of eggs in the morning is that you’ll be full for a longer of time and eat way less during the rest of your day. I also recently read that eating a breakfast of two eggs can leave you feeling full longer than a bagel and eat approximately 400 less calories during the rest of your day. Nevertheless, make sure to have them boiled in water or fried with a bit of olive oil. Avoid butter.
This non-starchy vegetable is one of the few foods that you can eat in unlimited quantities; which is just perfect. There are multitude of ways that you can think of on how to eat cauliflower: nature, with lemon and cumin or steamed and mashed with garlic salt and a hint of olive oil.
4) Low-fat Yogurt
Low-fat yogurt is often added to weight-loss programs as calcium when combined with other bi-active compounds will help slow down the process of making fat and thus increase fat burning, especially around the belly. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean having yogurt at every meal: you can add yogurt to your dips, sauces and salad dressings or simply have a cup of low-fat yogurt for dinner with a fruit. It can be a great afternoon snack as well!
Oatmeal is another perfect aliment as it helps you stay longer since it’s full of fiber and as it also is a great source of proteins. I’m sure you’ve heard this from your mothers and here I am repeating it; breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you have it regularly and in a good way; it will only make you slimmer. Do not skip your breakfast and if you don’t have time to prepare something, mix oats with low-fat yogurt and dried fruits.
6) Almonds and Walnuts
Almonds and walnuts contain the “good” type of fat but also protein. The trick here is to eat a small cup of these nuts every now and then; sometimes up to 5 times a week. They would constitute an extremely healthy snack and they will keep you full and enhance the fat burning process.
Not only I’ve read that soup is a slimming food but I’ve also experienced it more than once. In fact, adding water to your food will fill you much more than just drinking some; which is why it’s a double win in this case. When you eat soup, you will feel fuller faster and without any extra-calories. Hence, you will eat less during the day. Avoid creamy and heavy soups.
PS: I once had vegetables and meat soup 3 times a week and lost 3 kilos in 10 days!
Believe it or not; fish tops both oatmeal and vegetables when it comes to satiety. Studies have shown that the strong flavor of fish leads to a greater satiety and thus a decreased need to eat. Make sure to always add soy sauce, lemon, ginger and others to add more attraction to your meal.
When we mention diets, we think of salad. Nevertheless, the right behavior isn’t always the one adopted. The key isn’t to eat some greens and then end up failing dieting. Here, I have to talk about my own lifestyle. The key behind a healthy diet is having salad EVERYDAY. Meaning, I eat salad whether my main dish is pasta, fish, beef or anything else. In fact, having a salad (+fresh vegetables) bowl everyday as a startup of your lunch will help you eat fewer calories later on. Consider you have pasta for lunch, instead of just digging into the carbs, you will start by first having some salad that will leave you half full before you eat any amount of pasta.
This is considered as one of the natural weight-loss foods. It is the perfect snack or desert if you’re in need of something really sweet. Not only it is fresh and sweet but it is also low in calories. Pineapples are also high in fibers and this is something that we’re all looking for when dieting.
