Golden Globes – Looks We Love/Hate

Looks We Love

Reese Witherspoon

reese witherspoon

What she wore: Custom made Calvin Klein Collection dress, Tiffany & Co. Jewelry.

Why we love it: This look is classic, simple, elegant, yet memorable. It evokes old Hollywood glamour, yet can also be interpreted as very modern, and, it accentuated the actress’ best features.

Kate Hudson

What she wore: Atelier Versace gown, Forevermark jewelry, Jimmy Choo clutch.

Why we love it: Not many can pull off such a daring, bold gown, and make it look incredibly classy. The fit was perfect, and the incredibly minimal styling worked in her favor. What made the look work the most though was her hair and makeup, which enhanced her beauty yet did not divert attention from the gown.

Emma Stone

What she wore: Lanvin jumpsuit.

Why we love it: This bold choice is my personal favorite look of the night. It’s edgy, young, and hip while at the same being classic and elegant. Absolutely stunning.

Allison Williams

Allison Williams

What she wore: Armani Prive gown, Cartier jewelry.

Why we love it: It’s on trend, the tailoring is perfect, and it’s just plain gorgeous. Her hair and makeup were also on point, and help give this very modern gown some classic undertones.

Chrissy Teigan

Chrissy Teigan

What she wore: Zuhair Murad gown, Harry Kotlar jewelry.

Why we love it: This is what a black tie bohemian princess would look like. Love the color with her skin tone and hair color. Everything worked perfectly together.

Jennifer Lopez

What she wore: Zuhair Murad caftan, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Jimmy Choo clutch, Stuart Weitzman heels.

Why we love it: Wow. I’m not even going to comment on this one…

Looks We Don’t Love

Lena Dunham

Lena Dunham

What she wore: Zac Posen dress, Irene Neuwirth jewelry.

Why it didn’t work: The color doesn’t mesh with her skin tone, making her look pasty white, and the dress is wrinkly and ill-fitting around the waist. The styling didn’t help either – those shoes are not the best pick.

Amal Alamudine/Clooney

Amal Alamudine

What she wore: Dior Haute Couture, Harry Winston earrings.

Why it didn’t work: The dress is fine – incredibly simply yet elegant, but those gloves! They completely destroyed an otherwise mediocre look.

Kiera Knightley

Kiera Knightley

What she wore: Chanel dress.

Why it didn’t work: The dress is terrible, nothing about it is redeemable. And why is there a giant butterfly on her wrist?

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike

What did she wear? Wearing a Vera Wang gown and Fred Leighton jewels
Why it didn’t work: This could have been a beautiful, show stopping look. The issue wasn’t with the gorgeous dress, or with the styling, but rather with the fact that the dress was very, very ill fitting!

Claire Danes

Claire Danes

What she wore: Valentino gown, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, Salvatore Ferragamo heels.

Why it didn’t work: This look is not flattering. It didn’t fit very well and gave her body no shape, and was not age appropriate for the young actress.

You decide: Love it or Hate it?

Julianne Moore

Julianne Moore

What she wore: Custom Givenchy Haute Couture, Chopard jewelry.

Aluminum foil wrapped bird or edgy, modern take on a Grecian goddess?

Naomi Watts

Noami Watts

What she wore: Gucci gown, Bulgari jewelry and clutch.

Not sure if the necklace makes the look or just clashes with that unnecessary belt buckle.

In love with R.Witherspoon and Jennyfer Lopez looks. Jenny is stunning and very elegant as usual.
    Juliane Moore: hate it
Naomi Watts look would have been nice without the hidious waist buckle. 🙂
