Givenchy, Ready-To-Wear, SS15:
My favorite brand made it up to my expectations once again. At first glance, when looking at this collection, one might ask himself: why so dark? isn’t this a winter collection? It was all about total black, black and white or dark brown hues. Once more, Givenchy was all about a heavy use of leather and I loved the harness details and the corset-like straps that were used for the chest details. This collection is dark, strong, sexy full of androgynous almost-dominatrix looks. I’ve got my eyes on the fabulous laced-up heels and these knee-high leather stockings constitute a GENIUS twist.
Céline, Ready-To-Wear, SS15:
What a beautiful collection! I have to say I was first confused as I was going through the pictures of this collection, trying to figure out the inspiration behind it. Once more, the label sticks to its minimalistic silhouette and I just love it. Each and everyone of us goes through fashion phases and lately, I’ve been all about minimalistic pieces, beautiful cuts, perfect tailoring and very sharp colors. I loved the contrast between very fluid pants and well-tailored tops, I particularly loved the waist cutouts, gorgeous!! The kimono-style suits with long skirts are so different, taking us back in time. As for the coats, each one of them is a bold piece, especially with the shimmery details. Last but not least, I think the models’ hairstyle was utterly perfect, matching every look with a very elegant simplicity. Oh, and for the lovers of handbags, I’m sure you already have your eyes on the new clutches & shopping bags, their matte finish is to die-for.
Chloé, Ready-To-Wear, SS15:
Wow. I would love to have attended this show. What a beautiful collection, extremely natural and down to earth. Gladiator sandals, off-whites, lace details, beige suede, dark denim, natural flowing hair, pastel hues or darker tones: this shabby-chic collection is somewhere between a very Dallas look and an extremely modern silhouette. With the way denim and the off-white looks were handled, these looks took me back in time, making me want to take a look at my previous closet, being sure of finding similar pieces but in a more old-fashioned way. I just loved how the label stayed very preppy, fresh, natural yet perfectly spotted the needs of a modern woman of our era.
Barbara Bui, Ready-To-Wear, SS15:
You all already know how much I love Barbara Bui, her vision of fashion simply sweeps me off my feet. I fell in love with this collection, Bui brought a lot of changes yet stayed true to her iconic pieces. I loved the graphic embroidery, it’s gorgeous and I was very surprised to see that it was inspired from graffiti tags. It seems the designer pays a tribute to street-wear with this collection, especially with her slouch pants. I was happy to see all-white and all-black looks, something not new to the designer but that I love seeing updated. Bui revealed that this collection was inspired by cultural mix, the energy of hiphop and streetwear. The pointy Moroccan-style shoes are gorgeous and I can’t wait for my pair. As for the all-metallic looks, they’re so bold yet look so natural that I could see anyone sporting them for a big night out.
