The Armani Prive show definitely makes it to my favorite couture shows of the season. Huge bamboo sticks decorating the catwalk made us immediately grasp the spirit of the collection before having the models kicking off the show. With this collection composed of sixty-eight looks (wow!!), Armani takes us on a direct flight to Japan, showcasing all the beauty of south-asia. From the soundtrack to the looks, the use of fabrics (gazar, silk, satin silk, etc.), the accessories (huge bamboo-printed earrings), the hairstyles (very sleek braid), the makeup look (minimalist), everything was in accordance with the theme.
The first thirty looks made us ask ourselves: wait is this a couture or a ready-to-wear collection? I loved how everything went crescendo. The show started with a series of gorgeous ensembles mostly using gazar, silk, jacquard, crepe, embroidered lace and silk satin. I loved the looks composed of silk gazar jackets and culottes. The show continued with beautiful silk printed gazar dresses, always with a bamboo-print (repeated in most looks from the first till the final look). Most final looks were entirely embroidered all over with jet, Swarovski crystals, feathers and silk strands.
My collection favorites were the bamboo-print statement earrings and I loved how the bamboo effect was embroidered on some of the first jackets and final gowns.
I love it when from my seat, I can spot the excellent finishing of a collection, I’m full of admiration for the Armani team that definitely did an amazing job for this collection, it’s a no-mistake round whether or not we like the theme chosen.
