Fierce in Dior

For her debut ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri celebrate the woman, her collection is a beautiful tribute to all women out there that have been making a difference. Her Dio(r)evolution didn’t just go by, it marked us. Cheers to collections like that.

I was extremely eager to attend her second Dior ready-to-wear fashion show. For the occasion, I wanted a look from the brand’s SS17 collection that reflected her vision. Something empowering, something fierce and strong.

I went for a total white look, inspired by fencing. I have to admit it’s the first time I go for such a mood and I loved it. To make the look more cool, I wore a t-shirt instead of a classic shirt under the jacket, I loved creating an asymmetry. Red lips for a feminine touch.

Can you feel the power in this look?

Oh and about power. I love how the global trend, even for Winter 2018 is to actually emphasize on strong messages of power. I remember reading a remark pointing out that clothes don’t empower us. Yes and no. It’s not necessarily about the clothes you are wearing, and it sometimes isn’t at all. It’s about a mindset, it’s about a vision. And nowadays, more than ever before, fashion is meant to have a message. Women out there are daily celebrated, whether they go for a crazy career or decide to stay home to raise a beautiful family. Where is the wrong in wearing pieces with empowering messages? Where is the wrong in styling looks that can influence the way we feel about ourselves, the way we feel about our lives? There’s no wrong at all.

At the same time, fashion doesn’t always have to be serious, it’s what you make it, how you live it and how you chose to love it.
