Since March, rumors have been circulating around about the coming closure of the affordable and young D&G range by Dolce & Gabbana. Opened in 1994, this edgier alternative to the high-end range has been able to reach to most consumers, young adults and even older ones.
Last thursday, on wednesday 22nd, the Italian fashin house confirmed that it is to close its D&G line. The Milan show, last week, was the label’s last catwalk show. In a statement, owners and designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said: ‘For the upcoming seasons, D&G will become part of Dolce&Gabbana, giving even more strength and energy to our collections.”
I was extremely deceived when I heard these news 🙁 as I really love their edgy brand. I really believe they were able to seduce us year after another with extremely original and outstanding ideas. We will still shop for some D&G items next spring and summer but after then, it’s over.
Stay tuned, Milan Fashion Week will be running until tomorrow.
