Yesterday, on September 13th, I was lucky enough to attend the Céline trunk show hosted by Aïshti. It took place at People restaurant located inside Aïshti’s Downtown Beirut store.
This show was organized to showcase the brand’s new fall/winter 2011-2012 collection. This event provided the attendees with a sneak preview of Phoebe Philo’s celebrated collection.
Foreign models booked for the event glided down a special catwalk set inside the restaurant. The two models had a very natural look with a nude make up and their hair knot in a simple poney-tail. This appearance was the original one used during the official show in Paris. I am really happy to have participated in helping making this event a success.
Key statement pieces from the Céline collection were shown, such as intricately structured woven coats in shades of gray and deep orange, in addition to minimalist black and white ‘50s-inspired looks. The concept for this strong collection was classicism with an emphasis on pure and sharp lines.
After the show, guests were invited to enjoy a light brunch and view the collection up close at the Céline boutique.
I am really happy when such events take place in Beirut as it make us feel there is some of the international fashion professionalism present in town. I join here few pictures taken during the event, you will just love it!
