The very baroque city of Salzburg is the perfect fairytale backdrop for such a beautiful show. I loved how Lagerfeld’s models moved through royal salons lit by candles. Everything about this collection reminded me of the Viennese military academy: the frogged jackets, the side-striped trousers, the fire red, the feathered hats, the embroideries, the trims and braiding, the several masculine hints. It was one of these frogged white jackets that was turn from the uniform of a hotel page to Chanel’s signature little black dress.
In Reincarnation, with Cara Delevingne starring as Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi or “CC” as Pharell sang), we are taken to another world; to a fashion scene where juggling between different moods and trends is the norm.
I’m completely in love with Lagerfeld’s latest Metiers D’Art shows, the idea that he constantly wants to celebrate the craftsmanship of Chanel’s artisans is very moving. Karl, we can’t wait for more. #ChanelMakesUsDream
