The combination of black and red is widely known as a very powerful color scheme. Since red is representative of fire and strength, I love wearing it as I feel it draws a lot of positive energy. However, I was never so sure about wearing black and red together.
A couple of years ago, during an interview, I was asked about what in my opinion is the biggest fashion no-no: “I hate wearing black and red together! I really don’t know if one day I’ll be able to.”
In fact, wearing black and red together has looked wrong for ages. Looking chic has always been about subtle colors mix and matched together. And when it comes to black and red, it’s the opposite. You can’t just ignore it. The last time these colors were trendy together was in the 1980s; when it became an Yves Saint Laurent signature. Black and red together means power-dressing. Today, I find myself in love with the new direction fashion is taking for the combination of black and red together. I love how it’s very rough and street-style.
When I saw this leather blouse, I couldn’t help styling with matte red pants, leather ankle boots and a transparent box clutch. Red lipstick for a stronger impact.
I am wearing: Gat Rimon leather blouse, red jeans from 7 For All Mankind, Gucci ankle boots, a Chanel box clutch from the Paris-Dubai Cruise collection and Mukhi Sisters rings.
