Barbara always surprises us. Contrarily to the lightness we might expect for a summer collection, leather was king this time. The texture was used for all types of wearable designs. I loved the leather bermudas, it’s quite an update for our wardrobes and they’re very figure-flattering.
Barbara stayed true to her feminine silhouette but she added a little of that sporty look. I loved her use of fringes, especially the fringed belted poncho, on my wish-list. I would see myself in her slip dresses, yet to the shirt dress with a large belt. As usual, she masters the biker jacket and makes you want every single piece.
Her use of hot fuchsia at the end of the show contrasted with the warm caramel hue that opened the show, creating a nice balance with the use of aubergine, white and black.
Some might argue that the show could have been a winter one with the use of leather, suede, velvet and fringes, layers and draped details but everything about the styling screamed summer. The shoes, the belts, the bags, the simplicity of the different slip dresses. Great one.
