I want to start by thanking Piaff Boutique for the access to this show, the experience was really interesting.
If I had to chose one word to describe this collection, I would have to say colorful. Before even hitting the show, just by looking at the card we can get a feel of the collection. In fact, the card is a very colorful aerial shot of the show’s location, the Jardin des Tuileries. This show was inspired by the patterns and colors of landscapes as seen from the sky: fields of golden wheat, dark green forests, mirrored lakes, etc. I am literally in love with this collection. There’s nothing that has more hope, more happiness and movement than colors and very light fabrics for contrasting cold winters. The live music by the Open Reel Ensemble was very good and added a lot to the graphism of the show; as the band composes music using reel-to-reel tape decks combined with live samplings of voices and sounds.
From the checkered patterns with stripes, to the voluminous outerwear, the multi-color blocked tartan checks and the rich colors for wool and angora coats, it felt like a very warm, confortable yet fresh winter. My favorite part were the colorful accents on pockets and collars, the printed wide legged pants and skirts, the two-tone knit tops and the flared skirts. Everything was there for a really good collection!
