Located between The Tuileries Garden, Place de la Concorde, Musee du Louvre and Rue de Rivoli, Hotel Le Meurice has, in my humble opinion, one of the most strategic spots in magical Paris. I’ve always stayed around the VIIIeme arrondissement in Paris but my stay at Le Meurice this fashion week changed my perception of things. First, it’s centrally located when it comes to fashion shows locations. You have coffee shops all across Rivoli and St Honore can satisfy any craving from great food to amazing shopping. Colette is 4 minutes away and Costes is only 5 minutes away! Definitely practical.
This put aside, they say mythical places are rare to come by. They are filled with history and little tales that can make you dream. I’m a dreamer. A little bit artistic and a little bit romantic. And I refuse to accept that mythical places only exist in our imagination. Earth is beautiful and although I believe in heaven, I strongly believe we are surrounded with the most incredible places. Paris is Paris but not everywhere in Paris can feel this magical. I have to genuinely say that I fell in love with Le Meurice and with its very strong history. And yes, it’s the very first Parisian palace. Every detail about this hotel is majestic, from the room accommodations, to the bathrooms, the Dali restaurant, the breakfast area or even Bar 228. The Louis XVI-inspired interiors don’t feel old because the hotel was more than once renovated and refurnished, constantly giving the hotel a little modern touch. It is now owned and operated by the Dorchester Collection.
From exercising early at the Gym to getting pampered at Christophe Robin’s hair suite and enjoying Cedric Grolet’s surprising dessert creations, everything was perfect. The service is on point, the food is amazing and if you’re a gluten/dairy intolerant like me, you will find everything very convenient! It’s important that hotels keep up with the changes, I loved that so many aliments in the menu are actually organic!
The most beautiful part of staying at Le Meurice is the beautiful crowd that you get to see, it always feels so artistic, so different. Just to think that Salvador Dali enjoyed the hotel yearly for a month over 30 years gives me goosebumps! The place is the same but people keep changing and these walls remember.
Isn’t this so beautiful?
