Contribution: Cerina El Sahely

I always receive emails asking me for new ideas of healthy snacks. I think we all start our diets super well until it’s time for snacks. Disasters can happen! We’ve all had a very busy and full-of-ovewhelming-food holidays. Here’s to a new year, a new week and new healthy habits.

Let’s start with a very simple healthy snack that you can have a couple of hours after breakfast or lunch. It will satisfy your sugar cravings and keep you full until dinner.

How to make Apple Carrot juice:

For 4 servings:

4 apples

3 carrots

Scrub the carrots and cut each one into 2 or 3 pieces. Remove the stems from the apples and carefully cut them into quarters. Put the apples and carrots through the juicer. Throw away the pulp and pour the juice into two glasses. Add a squeeze of lemon if you like it sour and stir the juice. Try to drink it on the spot to benefit from all the vitamins. You can do this twice a week from time to time if you like juice, it is light and it respects your daily calorie intake.

Stay tuned for more tips coming up this week as well! And don’t hesitate on dropping me an email if you have any suggestions of topics/random questions.

I do this juice with 1 orange, 1 carrot and 1 Apple and additionally I add a small piece of ginger and a tiny splash of olive oil. Fat helps the body to fully absorb all the vitamins from the fruits. Instead of oil avocado could help as well.
